Citrus Sport: How to Style an Oversized Jersey for the Loudest Summer of 2026

|Tariq Fadl

Summer 2026 picked a side. Bold color, athletic silhouette, no apologies — dopamine dressing moved off the mood board and straight into the street. The jersey was always going to be at the center of this.

1. The Persimmon Hit: Mesh Football Jersey + Persimmon Biker Shorts + Platform Sneakers

This is the entry point. An oversized white football jersey dropped over persimmon orange biker shorts — the kind of color that reads from twenty feet away.

Platform sneakers. Everything else quiet. The jersey is already doing the talking.

2. The Linen Lift: Sleeveless Basketball Jersey + Chalk Linen Wide-Leg Trousers + Sandals

Electric lime basketball jersey, sleeveless. Chalk white wide-leg linen trousers — high-waisted, relaxed, moving with every step. The jersey gets a loose half-tuck at the front, just enough to acknowledge the waist without fighting the linen's volume. There's a resort energy to it that feels a little unexpected for a jersey outfit. That tension is the whole point.

Flat sandals keep it grounded. This one travels well, photographs even better.

3. The Parachute Drop: Cropped Round-Neck Jersey + Cargo Parachute Pants + Chunky Sneakers

Cropped jersey in solar yellow. White parachute cargo pants — soft volume through the leg, the kind that shifts when you walk. Fully exaggerated silhouette, top and bottom. It's the Y2K reference, no question — but the yellow pulls it clean out of nostalgia and into right now.

Chunky sneakers. Loud and not trying to be anything else.

4. The Bermuda Clash: Football Jersey + Long-Sleeve White Cotton Base + Hot Coral Bermuda Shorts + Loafers

This one has some layering going on. A football jersey over a white long-sleeve base — the sleeve fabric visible at the forearm. Hot coral tailored bermuda shorts underneath, clean-cut and hitting at the knee. Loafers.

The preppy reference is fully intentional here. Sport running head-on into a different kind of formality. The coral bermuda is what places this in summer 2026 and not some mid-2010s style archive — it's that specific, that saturated.

5. The Boardwalk Layer: Basketball Jersey + Electric Lime Biker Shorts + Open-Knit Vest + Flat Sandals

White basketball jersey. Electric lime biker shorts. An oversized open-knit vest draped over the whole thing — loose, unstructured, not fully committing to outerwear but not not outerwear either. Flat strappy sandals.

Boardwalk energy. The kind of outfit that gets assembled without overthinking and then worn for the rest of the day. Open-knit texture against smooth athletic mesh creates a material contrast that does a lot of quiet work — tactile, layered, still visually easy.

Not your average sport fit.
